I've known alcoholics to drink cough syrup or mouthwash to get drunk so liqueurs would be possible

It's an ugly disease, alcoholism. Unfortunately, to keep that person out of temptations reach, no alcohol should be kept in the house. To an alcoholic, it's not how good the liquor tastes. They will drink anything and everything. Be safe. No booze in the house. There is no easy solution for an alcoholic. Complete abstinence from alcohol is the first step. Alcohol is alcohol. It comes under many different names but, it is still alcohol.

An alcoholic will drink anything. Anytime. Especially anything is there isn't a better choice.
Just like someone who eats too much will eat their favorite things first, but if those are unavailable will eat a jar of peanut butter if they need a food fix.
It's a disease, it doesn't discriminate between liquors.

an alcoholic will drink anything that has alcohol in it so yes, my sister actually drank mouthwash, drano, curell the hand sanitizer, and many others that I can not think of right now.

Some will drink ANYTHING containing alcohol...even things not meant to be consumed.
