If you take highway 66 North out of town there is a recycling center. Just about 1/2 mile out of town (that's a guess) turn L onto Lowry Road. Go over the railroad tracks and about 1/2 mile down on your L there is a recycling center. They have places to put pop cans, metal cans, glass of all types, plastic 1 and 2, milk jugs, cardboard, and paper. There is no place that I know of around Claremore that you can get money - you have to move to the East or West coast for that!

Pop can tabs, like the rest of the can, are made of aluminum and can be taken to a scrap metal recycle for the scrap metal. If you live in a state with a deposit law, you can return bottles and cans to a grocery store for the 5 or 10 cent deposit.

Don't buy bottled water. You will save money, as opposed to making money, but money saved is money you can spend on something else.

You can take the soda can tabs to the Cancer Society. They are turned in and used to fund Breast Cancer research. You can turn the bottles and cans at a local grocery store, they have machines that crush plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminum cans also. You can use the money toward your grocery bill.

Good Luck

It depends on where you live. There should be a drop off place for bottles, cans cardboard ect. Check your phonebook or contact the city. It doesnt matter if you get paid because its the right thing to do. So go out and recycle! And thanks for being part of the solution, not the problem.

I find that because of newer Eco-Friendly packaging, I don't feel as guilty littering as I used to.

Now when I toss plastic bottles out the car window, I know I'm providing fertilizer for future generations of plant life.
