The only mumbler that frustrates me is my husband, because usually I need to know what he is saying. Anyone else, if they mumble and I can't make out what they are saying after asking them to repeat once, I just say OK whatever.

No, you're not the only one that gets irritated by mumbling. I can't stand it. Mainly because I'm slowly losing my hearing and I rely on lip reading to understand people. When attempting to understand a mumbler, I can neither hear them nor read their lips. It's aggravating.

If that's the most trying thing in your life, consider yourself blessed. Here's a thought, some people have hearing problems and can't always hear the volume of their own voice. Next time learn some patience. Asking someone to repeat themself shouldn't put a damper on your day unless you're just a cranky person.

My mom mumbles on the phone. Actually, she talks fast and when she's brushing over part of the story that doesn't really matter, she lowers her voice and talks faster. Usually I just wait till she's done and then I say "WHAT? Slow down and speak up."

Mumbling is annoying. I usually respond back by shouting, which is quiet common. I like to listen, and to think about what other people have to say.
If you want to be heard, don't mumble. I miss those grade school teachers who used to rap your knuckles with a ruler when you didn't speak clearly in class.

I hate it because it often makes me question my hearing capabilites. When someone mumbles I always wonder if there is something wrong with my ears.

Oh no kidding! My co-worker is like that. He'll tell me how to do something, and I'll have to say "What?" 10 times before I know what he's saying. Then he seems to think I'm an idiot or something cuz he doesn't think I understand what he's saying. That's cuz he doesn't speak clearly!
I'd love to just say something to him about it, but that will never happen.
