Stuck in traffic for 2.75-4 hours everyday, but the money is the only motivation that my job offers. Is this too much time dealing with traffic or should i start looking for a new family docotor job? If i applied for a job near home, it would result in a $30,000 reduction because therer are so many medical centers here.

salary = $150,000 a year and maybe overtime, if you put that in perspective

thank you

I'm betting you'll have close to 30K in time, vehicle wear, expenses and aggrivation.

I'd have to think hard and long, but I'd have to pass.

Move closer to your job. If that is not possible, stay in a room during the week and go home on weekends. In the US the IRS allows 48 cents per mile for auto deductions for business. At 100 miles you are spending $48 per day just using your car.
The more hours you spend on the road, the more chances of an auto accident.

It is if you have a decent ride, I used to do about 80 miles a day but one of my friends does 80 miles each way so for him it comes out to about 160 miles a day.

Commuting is the new way of the world so to speak and I can only see it getting even more popular as people start embracing rail as a transit system.

I'd take the hit in pay ., I've been there and it is not worth the pay difference . More money is spent on gas and wear/tear on the car + your time. Getting up early and coming home late
It gets very old very fast .Now if you were making 30K a year ,but could make 60K by driving i would do that , but in your case , No .

thats way too much to travel, when I was going to college, I would only go 25, either way, for 50 miles round trip. Buy Im happy somewhat that its over because I would have to fill up with gas almost every Monday..
and with price of gas these day that was alot of money coming out of my pocket....

You are a doctor, and you can't figure this out on your own? But then you can't spell doctor correctly, either.

You asked this same question a few days ago.
