If I eat a big bowl of spaghetti with turkey marinara (homeamde) everyday, and I work out everyday (sometimes 2-a-days) will my weightloss be significantly slowed due to the added carbs and sugar from the meal?

yea, it will!

There is nothing wrong with a treat once a week, but everyday is a big NO-NO!

not at all Im italien and I eat stuff that is crazy carb/grease laden but I eat small portions and I still am loosing weight you need to exercise some the day you eat it if you eat a big bowl. Personally what I find works is I do 40-50 minutes cardio a day if I end up eating a huge meal of leys say italien sausage pasta then I add an extra 30-40 minutes of cardio it makes me think twice the next time if I think. So if I want a meal bad enough it has to be worth extra gym time or I dont eat it at all.

No, you need some carbs. I'm Italian and its hard to give up pasta! :) Wheat pasta or multi-grain is even better tho. Like Plus Barilla. As long as you eat in moderation, its good for you. Your doing the right thing with using turkey, I do that too. Or its even better to just use marinara.

Simply put... YES!! If you must have the pasta, keep the serving small and make it whole wheat. At least that way it has some nutritional value. But I think you already knew the answer to this one. Working out helps, but working out shouldn't be for the sole purpose of burning calories. Make the calories (and other carbs) healthy calories and within reasonable amounts, and work out to keep fit and healthy.

Not if you limit it to 1 portion- Spaghetti about the size of your fist and about 3/4 cup of sauce. GO to mypyramid.gov and figure how to put it in your meal plan.

I weigh 117 - I eat what I want within reason.

spaghetti is fine if you don't eat too much of it. how big of a bowl? watch your portions and you'll be fine. eat a well balanced diet with proper portions.
