DISNEYWORLD! (for me, anyway) My family & I have had dinner in Cinderella's castle at least twice in the past where we witnessed proposals and it was absolutely beautiful! Then one of the cast members announced "SHE SAID YES!!!" and made a big "to-do" about it. I'm getting tears just thinking about it!

Defo not the Indian unless it is her most favourite place to go in the world.
My husband proposed to me in a bar on new years eve and although I said yes and it was wonderful at the time, it's wasn't very romantic and I get embarrassed telling people.
We went to Paris 2 months earlier and everybody said he was going to do it then and afterwards he said it was too corny, but I'd have loved it.
I'd say somewhere that's special to the both of you, or somewhere you've both never been before. It doesn't have to be extravagant.

I was proposed to in a restaurant. Now granted, it was our favorite restaurant and we had a lot of memorable meals there and he did make the proposal memorable, and the people around us enjoyed it. I am a fairly private person, and I think I would have rather this been a little more private. I mean the pressure was on... I had to say yes, how could I say no in front of all those people. maybe that's why it's done in public. Kinda like hedging your bets?

My fiance proposed to me while we were laying on the couch in our pajamas watching tv. I knew he would be asking me eventually (we had been talking about it) but he wanted it to be a surprise for me. I was definitely not expecting it then! Sure, the time and place were not the most romantic but the thought that went into it was.
I am not going to go around telling people to propose to their girlfriends/boyfriends on a couch. However, I like the idea of doing it when it is least expected.

My fiance proposed to me on the high-rise rooftop of the building I live in, no one else around, with the stars twinkling overhead and the city-lights skyline as a backdrop. We'd been at a charity ball, so I was in a formal and he in a tux. VERY classy.

You can't really think of it that way. Don't put so much thought into places and such....think about the person you are potentially proposing to. What would make it special for them. What are his/her favorite places, activities, etc. I'd take it from there and then see where it leads me.

I think it would be really romantic if my boyfriend picked me up from work by surprise, too me to a secluded area for a sunset picnic. Wine, cheeses, music...then popped the question when the time is just right!

I would like it on the beach, but really anywhere would be romantic just by the nature of the question being asked...unless it wasn't really asked properly.

Has to be a place where its exciting and romantic. And gets both your imaginations running wild. Has to be emotional to give a lasting impact.
