Trim just a little at a time, very slowly and carefully. For example if you want to trim an inch, start by trimming 1/8 of an inch. If you are a female it's probably best to have it cut by a professional or at least a friend at the back.

I take mine into a pony tail, twist it towards the front of your face so it hangs in front of your nose and clip the ends with scissors. Most people will tell you to go to a salon but in a pinch this works fine. The layers will fall pretty well as long as you twist the ponytail.

Since you don't want to go to the barber i suggest you have someone hold 2 mirrors one for the front and one for the back of your hair so you can see what you are doing. plus the person could guide you while you do it to ensure you don't zug your self

I tryed to cut my hair myself and it didn't work well. Better find yourself a good and not very expensive hairdresser. ask your friends and some elder women. Really it won't be good if you do it yourself. You'll have to go to a hairdresser and cut your hair even shorter after this if you cut them not very well yourself. don't experiment with your hair. they don't grow so fast.

Go to your favorite salon and have them do it for you, so you don't have to worry about it! Good luck!
