Will your dad be ok with this? A lot of people--especially those that aren't as able bodied as they used to be--do not want to be the center of attention, dancing awkwardly. I know my husband would be terribly embarrassed by that. Though he could do the dance on crutches. I've seen a married couple when the groom had a broken leg and he did the dance on crutches. He had one under his arm, a groomsmen took the second one. He used that hand to hold his bride and twirl her around. He couldn't move much so she had to do most of the movement though.

Why even do the first dance? Most of the time anniversaries don't. I like slideshows personally--so that everyone can see pictures of things they have done together throughout the years. They could do some other traditional wedding things--like drinking champagne with their arms twisted or cutting and sharing the cake.

does he have a wheel chair? let him sit in it and your mom can still dance with him, I have seen it done. if they just hold hands and kind of move around, it will be just fine.
