My daughter could fatally stab me, and she'd still be the person I love most. Of course, right now she's almost seven years old, so Dad is still #1.
Oh, wait ... this is on of those "philosophical" questions about the Bible and stuff. Ooops. My answer, however, still stands.

How many parents here think it's okay for their children to do anything anytime they want? How many parents here would try to teach their children about life, and what is right and wrong? How many here would never punish them when they did wrong? Would you like to eliminate the criminal justice system as well? They punish people for "not agreeing" with them.
Also, since this question is pretty ridiculous, how many parents here have the ability to condemn their child to eternal torment or grant them eternal bliss anyway?
Comparing us to God is ridiculous. It's clear He doesn't act like we do. He doesn't kidnap babies or rape women. He doesn't break into people's houses, rob them and kill them. He's foreseen our predicament. We are backward. We think God has laid down ground rules that must be obeyed or we will be destroyed. It's the other way around. We will be destroyed. That's a pre-existing condition. God has given us a way out, if we follow the ground rules. If we choose not to, we are back where we started. Headed for destruction.
How many parents, if they saw their children headed for destruction, would just let them go without telling them?

That depends, does that disagreement revolve around said child killing someone or hurting someone, knowingly and purposely? Then most likely he'd be punished severely (though not for eternity of torment, no such punishment).
Does it revolve around clothing style or piercings or a choice of study and practice that doesn't hurt anyone else? No, not by a long shot.

Jack...I "get" ya', good buddie...the major "point" and running theme of your questions is agreed with and understood...
But your anger is mis-directed...(and hurting the very "cause" you are expressing allegiance to...)
They're irreversibly brainwashed, Jack...
They won't "wake up" no matter how loud or long you shout "angry common sense" at them...
But I understand your passion...(they can be "infuriatingly" stubborn in their refusal to acknowledge "reality..."
But please understand with some compassion and mercy that their religious fervor and subborness is their One & Only mental defensive wall they've built up to protect their delicate psyche from the knowledge of their own eventual slide into oblivion...for some people, the "realization of mortality" was too much for them...so they grasp at straws until their delusion is the perfection of masked happiness and proclaimed "oneness" with the whole universe...and even with the fictional character who created it...to rip that wall like it was a throw-rug out from underneath their feet, either individually, or all at once in mass...
Would be a cruel and heartless thing to do...
So give 'em a break, will ya'?!? (they're already ready to snap at any time...don't buy 'em tickets to their own show...)

For the last time, THERE IS NO TORTURE IN HELL! Sorry for shouting, but people just don't get what hell really is. It is NOT a fiery pit, it is NOT a place where people get tortured. It is a place of regret and separation from God. It's a nasty place, to be sure, but there is NO fire, and NO torture.
And God doesn't condemn anyone to hell. We condemn ourselves. HE wants us all to come to Him, to seek Him...and if we don't, He respects our choice....for eternity.
If we live our lives separate from God, it only makes sense that He'd give us what we want, in the end.

If I tell my child, that he shouldn't commit a felony because he will surely go to prison, have I condemned him? Even if I pay taxes to the government that runs the prisons, is it my fault he didn't listen? If you don't follow the rules of society, or the rules of the cosmos, you're going to suffer, and that's the way it is...really...

Is it the parent's fault if the child burns itself on a hot stove after you tell him or her to stay away, and you've done everything you can to prevent it from happening?
Then why do you blame God if people choose hell over heaven, when God has done everything in His power to prevent it?
God doesn't send ANY body to hell. We reject heaven. We reject His Love. We reject God; God doesn't reject us.
Remember the story of the prodigal son? The younger son wanted his share of his dad's inheritance, and his dad wasn't even dead yet. But when (in a far country), he spent it all and wanted to come home, the father hugged him, put a ring on his finger, and had a party for him. As the dad said to his older son, "This, my son and your brother, was lost, but is now found. He was dead to us, but now is alive. It is right that we should celebrate his coming home. Likewise, all the angels in heaven rejoice when a soul is saved."

No one would. Nor would God. First, he does not condemn anyone one to hell for disagreeing with him. If you are speaking of the God of the Bible he judges people for their lives of sinfulness and rebellion against him. Out of his love for us, though, he has himself paid the price for our sin for all of those who will put their faith in him. Those who do so are born again, becoming children of God. No child of God will spend eternity in hell.

It's not the same thing, moron.
Do you treat ants the same way that you treat a person? Do you think they should understand why you treat them that way or agree with you about it?
Additional: People like you remind me of whiny little two year olds who don't want to eat their vegetables, as though they know enough to make that decision or even know why they should or shouldn't be eating them.
