Friday at 5:pm is about the worst time of the week to travel in the DC area. With the construction of the Douglas bridge, and the road closures and detours that the closing involves, you are looking at serious traffic. 295 most likely will be extremely heavy with backups and stop and go traffic most of the way. You can expect heavy traffic all the way to the 197 interchange, and many times it is slow up to 198 or even 32.

Allow at least an hour and a half, maybe a bit more.
