Allah says:
"Where are those who love each other for the sake of My glory? Today I will shelter them with My shade, as there is no shade today except My shade"." (Narrated by Muslim)
The love that Allah talks about is not just limited from Muslim - to - Muslim, but it is the love for everyone - regardless of religion. I know that this is a very short hadith, but so many feelings and emotions go through me when I read it, that makes me wonder if we are loving one another as much as we can for Allah.

tennisaurus ... Thank you for your input, even though I fail to see how it is constructive to my question.
You said, "it is impossible. we do not dictate our emotions. our emotions dictate us. you cannot choose." I have to disagree with you - people choose on a daily basis not to love, not to care, not to hate etc. People are not slaves to their emotions - but use logic and reason.

Yes we all must love one another for the sake of Allah. Allah loves those who are good and sincere. We all have one real enemy whom we must really hate. That's satan and his workers.

Where did you get the absurd idea that "it is the love for everyone", does that include the mushrikeen?
Regardless of religion?!? I'm sorry but I think you must be deluded.
Have you read the passages in the Quran concerning the idolators and the jews?
Concering people of other religions:
Quran 4:89 "They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and KILL them wherever ye find them, and choose NO friend nor helper from among them,"

Ofcourse, being a Muslim means you should love everyone from the core of your heart. If we believe that there is a Heaven and judgment will be done one day then as Allah's servants we must hope and work for the salvation of every single human being. That only way to achieve that is unconditional love and having an excellent relationship with God. Therefore now we deeply understand the message of Jesus, Moses and Muhammed. They were not dividers but uniters who loved eveyone from the core of their hearts. May God's Peace and Blessings be on them.

first of all, you are incredibly arrogant and self righteous. second of all, stop reading the hadiths. if you want to know why, go to www.submission.org and read through the hadith and sunnah section. if you really are a muslim, you would know that the Qur'an itself prohibit any other hadith from being used as a guide. i wonder why you did not know that. it's because, like 99.9% of all muslims, you've never read the qur'an with its meaning, never read the hadiths, and never investigated the content.
third of all, the concept of "loving everyone regardless of religion" is condescending. it's like saying 'oh, you're black? that's ok. i love you anyway for the sake of ----." and "oh, you're a christian? that's ok, for the sake of Allah, i love you."
if you want to be a muslim, be a muslim. but stop trying to be overly generous with your love. you cannot love everyone for the sake of his glory. it is impossible. we do not dictate our emotions. our emotions dictate us. you cannot choose to love someone.
jazakallah khair: what is the purpose of this? most muslims do not speak arabic. why can't the end their memos with something in their own language? do you think using arabic makes you holier?
