I used to want to live to 16 years old, then slit my wrist under a cheery blossom or peach blossom tree, because I thought die at young age is ultimate beauty------beautiful things never last long.

Now I think 40 years is enough, what about you?

Well, it depends how does my life go?..If it isn't good, I'd rather end my life at 30

Whatever you live it should be cheerful, full of joy. It could not be measured by time. All live things are to be disposed off in the nature. The nature will accept all things irrespective of whether they are beutiful or not. But nature gives us all pure things. The nature washes the beutiful flowers by dew in the early morning before we can see it.
enjoy nature till you live, let nature decide how long you live.

Well, im 40 and life is just starting.
Yes, at 16 you cant imagine ever getting past 20,but it happens and the world doesnt end. You are only as old as you let yourself be. I still do many things that some people half my age have quit doing. I still go to concerts, drive fast cars, play video games, act like a nut and all that fun stuff.
Myself i want to live as long as i can for the most part take care of myself. I dont want to get to the point of not being able to get up out of bed or losing my mind to alzheimers like my Grandma did for her last 10 years. Thats not life-thats a walking death.

I'm 60 and loving it.
I thought 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 were good but this is excellent ... until I can't wipe my ar*se - then it'll be difficult.

I just don't want to lose my facilities and control of my bodily functions.
When that starts happening on a regular basis I'll start saying my good-byes.
Dad's about to turn 90 on Thursday - still has his own teeth, walks and stands tall and straight. He's a good role model.
I don't reckon I'll get to 90 though cos I've punished my body bigtime.
Anyway, whatever age - every day's a bonus - enjoy and treat yourself like you love yourself.

I would say a 1,000 years or so would be nice. Maybe 10,000 years. I mean, the earth won't last forever, and I'd hate to say "live forever" and then wind up frozen solid, but alive, on a dead Earth like 1,000,000 years from now. But, as long as the Earth is around and life is relatively enjoyable, why would anyone want to die?

I've got to say, mid to late 80's (I'm still a teenager, but i've got to say that I am really looking forward to my retirement!)
As for your wish to live shortly, beauty is truly a fickle basis to judge the value of things. Fading beauty, even failing health, does not make life any less worth living. To be honest, life only improves in quality over years, despite bodily decay (assuming that you grow to understand living more over those years of painful sorrows and simple joys that are nearly a consolation for the former).

I want to live just long enough, and if things are going well, then as long as possible. I'm 40 now, and while I have been ready to go Home in the past, I'm kind of glad I didn't, and I'm not so eager to go right now. I'd like to see how things turn out. But, if I am called Home, my bags ARE packed and I won't hesitate to catch the bus!

i want to live a long life. there is so much out there to experience and i don't want to go before i'm good and ready.
i want to be there for my kids, help my daughter when she is pregnant, help my son and his wife when they have their children, influence my grandchildren's lives, skydive, retire with a nice nest egg, travel with my husband, joint eh peace corps for at least 2 years.

i hope you catch my drift.

instead of making an impression on other people, i am more interested in living MY life to it's fullest.
sure, slitting your wrists at 16 would be a tragic statement, however, that's something for a character in a book to do....not something i want to do myself b/c that would giving up on life far too soon.

perhaps you could start writing...that way you can "live" out your fantasies instead of living it in life...

take care.

I started dying the moment I was born. I don't have as much time on earth as I would like, and it grieves me that my child (who is due to be born in approximately 6 months) will not get to spend as much time with me as I would like. I like to picture our bond and the thought of me holding them in my arms brings tears to my eyes, but alas the time we have together will be limited.

How long do I want to live? Until the day I die, and not a moment sooner.

God's love and Blessing on your life.

Since I'm 39, 40 doesn't look as old as it used to.
I think I'd like to live as long as I can do the things I like to do.
