not really i have a friend who drank 2 a day between the ages of 27 and 36, he then cut to 1 a day until he was 44, he was then on a half bottle until the age of 52, since then he just drinks a quarter bottle , he is now over 60.

Depends on your philosophy.
You are way above recommended medical units per day but so are most people.
People usually drink excessively because they are hurt inside and trying to take a short cut to happiness.
Decide if you WANT to put on weight, lose your quality of life, become clinically obese, diabetic, hypertensive, impotent, depressed and get heart attacks, stroke and cancer of the stomach etc. If you do then continue!
You will realise eventually that only YOU and only YOU alone can decide to reduce or stop drinking. Your choice.
Decide what is wrong with your life and what you want to do about it - that is not easy.
If you want to live, not hurt your friends and family, be sociable, have friends, function EVERY day and save the NHS money then reduce or stop drinking.
If you suffer from stress and you are trying to increasingly cope with the alcohol use then I can tell you that it does not work.
Christianity is often a solution.

If you have to have it everyday and it's causing problems in your life, then I would say yes. Sometimes their is functioning alcoholics as well who are able to deal day to day, but if you even thinking the thought, then their might be some possibilities that it is. I would look up AA in your phone book, go out to a meeting and make the honest effort to pick out someone that sounds like they know what their talking about, and ask them what they think. These people go to these meetings just to be there for a moment like that. Good Luck

Beer is fine.
Wine is not really good, recommended ammount is 1 unit or a small glass of wine per day.
Spirits is a shot so definately not.

Hopefully it's beer.

Good luck and don't worry yourself.
