When you fast, it's important to do it properly. I strongly suggest that you DO NOT do a water fast. It is too harsh for the body. You end up depriving yourself of calories and nutrients. Plus, when you drink boat loads of water, you release stored-up toxins that are in your body. Without vitamins and minerals to carry those toxins away, you can make yourself quite sick.
I would suggest either a juice fast or a raw foods fast. Both are effective, safer ways to fast.
With the juice fast you need access to a juicer. It is a fast where you drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice all day. The great thing about the juice is that it does contain the appropriate vitamins and minerals to sweep your body clean of the toxins. The juice also helps you feel full. DO NOT drink store-bought sugary juices! They will not substitute.
If you go on a raw food fast, you can eat pretty much any fruit and vegetables you'd like as long as they are raw. This helps clean your system.
With either option, make sure you actually transition onto them and transition off of them slowly. If done incorrectly, you can pretty much cancel out all the potential benefits. The juice fast and the raw food fast are both good ways to keep the cravings down.
Good luck!

Why are you fasting?
If you are colon cleansing, check out this link....

If you are dieting, then you should not be getting to the point where you are so hungry that you lose resolve and are in danger of eating food you shouldn't.
Eat breakfast (oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, even bacon and eggs) so that you don't begin the day hungry. Have healthy foods within reach for when you get hungry so that you can EAT. Eat several small meals during the day. Drink plenty of WATER. Good eating plans abound of the web.
Any lifestyle can benefit from adequate exercise. If you are exercising for general health, its possible that you will get to the point where you can eat about anything you want, in moderation.
Any plan that advises you to NOT EAT is not a good plan. If you get too hungry, you'll grab for the easy convenient foods which aren't good for you.

Not too rapidly. But it's supposed to keep getting worse until I'm about 21. So I have a few years to go. It's currently -4.25 in both eyes (I'm nearsighted). It's corrected with contacts.
