Why, is there a law that bookstores can't sell Harry Potter? Isn't that their right? It is a book for crying out loud, it isn't real, the movie isn't real, and if you believe it then you are the one with the problem.

You don't have to go to that section, you don't have to purchase it, I am sure there are many OTHER books in your bookstore that go against what you think, feel, and believe.

Selling it on the Shabbat would only apply to a Jewish bookseller, but they would have been closed when the book was released, making that part of the question irrelevant. As for selling the book, put it amongst Christian and Hebrew scriptures and other great works of fiction, and it will probably sell as a reference guide for a new religion.

I have never read Harry Potter and never shall. But what laws has your book store broken?

If you did sue the bookstore, and the case went to court, during the proceedings it would no doubt transpire that the Jewish sabbath went from 6pm Friday to 6pm Saturday.

If you want to pay a lawyer a lot of money for a consultation that ends with them shaking their head and calling you an idiot.
