I think the word Therapist is aptly named, I agree that these Therapists Rape your mind. Anyone agree? Disagree?

Rapist sounds kind of strong, don't you think? In the true sense of the word, 'rape' is a brutal assault against your will. If you have 'issues' that need to be resolved, a shrink can help you find meanings to your problems and introduce thoughts and behavior to remediate the problems. They can also give you meds to restore chemical balance.

No doubt there are some slightly off center shrinks who could use a few meds themselves. They may just like hearing your private sex life things or stare at your boobs, but I don't think they are intent on raping your mind.

But, as noted above, if you are in therapy and unhappy, then you really do need to work with someone you can completely trust.

Peace,
Buzzy

I wouldnt say that they rape your mind so much as seduce your mind. You know a few bottles of wine and some lit candles with some soft slow jams and the mind panties go a dropping. ha ha ha just messin. If you seriously think that about your Therapist if you have one, then maybe you should consider going to a new therapist. Someone who is going to be gentle and wait for a willing participant as opposed to a forceful mean therapist. I have found that the process is actually inhibited if you dont really get along with your therapist. You tend to not be as truthful if you arent comfortable.

That old word play is really worn out. You obviously don't know anyone who is bi-polar! In any case, I am willing to bet that you either had a bad experience with a therapist, or you don't know squat about psychology. If it is the former, then know this: all therapists are not created equal, no more than anyone else. If you got a crappy therapist or two, then that is too bad, but that doesn't make all therapists bad. If it is the latter, and you simply do not know anything about psychology, then maybe you'd best keep your opinion to yourself when you don't know what you are talking about.

I'm not a big fan of therapists. But I think it's a personal thing. My roommate has a great therapist that really understands her. My last experience with a therapist was compleately awful. It's one of those things that if you keep looking you'll find the right therapist for you.

Disagree. When you go to a therapist, you voluntarily allow him to poke in your mind to help you get some answers for yourself.
So instead of taking the "victim" role for yourself and making the therapist the evil rapist, I'd recommend the following approach: the therapist and you are doing some sort of sado-maso mind-thingy... ;P
