to spurn wealth and love one another, isn't everything else that the Christian churches become advocates for merely a product of their own making and ultimately anti Christ's message?

I'm not anti Christian. This isn't an emotional question, it's an intellectual pondering. I am curious as to why Christian churches have built empires when Christ's teachings were so simplistic and so pure and seem to have been lost in the dogma of the churches.

1. The Lord Jesus, before ascending into heaven, commanded his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to the whole world.. The opening lines of the Dominus Iesus, declaration by Pope Benedict XVI. The gospel being love one another, God loves you, repent your sins, spurn wealth.

An incredibly good point.
It is an old saying, but is good to repeat, that sometimes we can become so busy doing the work of the Lord that we forget the Lord of the work.
You really have to look at the whys, the motives for what goes on in churches. Changing the established ways isn't as easy as you might think. Personally, I would have kept at it, but always felt as though I would have gotten farther by banging my head against a stone wall.

The problem is, Jesus didn't tell his disciples to 'JUST' do anything. He gave us guidelines to live by everyday, not just the don't's of the Ten Commandments but also the do's of the Beatitudes. In general, even though Churches are all fallible, I think most are striving to live God's word and follow God's law. As far as advocating the anti Christ's message, I think you just asked that to make Christian's angry. That's counterproductive if you really want answers or even just to make a point to the religious.

Being 'religious' is all about what *we* do, when the Bible teaches that it has everything to do with what God does.

Christians are to simply believe that Jesus was crucified, taking our sins with Him, and in three days was raised and now sits at the right hand of the Father.

Confessing and believing that insures our salvation.

It's all about Him, nothing about us.

Too simple for some folks to understand for sure....

As Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23, not everyone calling to him "Lord! Lord!" and doing things in his name are his people. VS. 23 says, "I never knew you, get away from me you workers of lawlessness."

Simply calling yourself Christian as most of these churches have, does not make them approved of by Christ. They are getting their reward in full now in wealth and power. They will receive none from Christ.

The False Messiah will rule from Israel and Christians will be deceived into fighting for him and his evil system of the beast.

It has already started.
