I think people finally realize how stupid it is to smoke and see how much money they can save by not smoking. I think employers are probably more likely to hire non-smokers too.

As they get a little maturity, they realize that smoking is silly and no longer need to smoke to look older...because they are.

After college, they have heard enough of the medical information that convinces them to stop wasting time, money and good health on silly cigarettes. It just some people longer than others.

Maybe because they realize that smoking actually has dangerous health effects and have matured enough to realize they should probably quit. Most teen smokers only do it to 'fit in' not thinking about the long term effects when you're 60 and have smoked for 40 years.

I don't know any statistics for this, but if it's true ...
There's a lot of peer pressure on young people to smoke, so they do it to fit in, then become addicted to it.
As they get older, they may have more strength of character to go their own way, they may realize the health consequences more, and they may have other things to spend their money on.

Because they are no longer getting an allowance and have to pay for their ciggys out of their own pocket, have you priced them lately?
