I am going to the doctors later to find out but i would like some opinions too.

I have a squeezing type of pain (can't even describe this pain accurately!) that is mainly off centre by my ribcage (in line with the inner edge of my breast), it travels from there to slightly lower and more central to the belly area and sometimes to my chest, it hurts when i breathe in (i am shallow breathing at the moment) and is worse in the morning and when i am sitting upright or standing and walking, it is effecting my daily routine obviously.

If no one knows it is fine i have at least written it down and it will be easier to tell the doctor now.

your pain could be a number of things e.g if you excercise alot it could be to do with your muscles and if you smoke alot it could be a chest infection or you could just have really bad indigestion.

It could be your thyroid gland. These were the exact symptoms my husband had before he was diagnosed with an under active thyroid. A few tablets and days later he's fine again but needs to take the tablets for life. Or it could be a chest infection or a pulled muscle. Better let your doctor examine you and find out for sure, in the mean time try not to worry, stress may make it worse. Good luck and hope you're feeling better soon.

Is it possible that you have fractured or bruised your ribs? maybe in a fall - or you may have some sort of chest infection

Even if you think you find your answer here, i would still recommend a visit to the doctors to get this checked out - any kind of chest pain could be to do with your heart.

Good Luck!

I'm not exactly sure, but see a doctor as quick as possible. You may never know the seriousness of the situation.

sounds like a pulled muscle in the inner costal muscles of the rib cage.
