I'm catching the EuroStar in September and i was wondering if anyone knew the extent of Customs and so, how long in advance would i need to arrive? (I'm not going in a car... ill be an on foot passenger)

For Eurostar you need to be 30 minutes before the departure.
If you arrive later you are not allowed on.
There is a good enough waiting space after check-in so do not wait till the last second.
(They make you stay behind and you have to take the next train if you are late.)

All they do at customs is look at your passport, and xray your bags, you then wait in a seated area until the gate opens which isnt long before depature time, about 20 mins to half an hour, you also keep your luggage for the whole of the journey

Sorry, not a clue. Best advice I can give is try and have a valid passport(just in case!) and ring them to inquire well ahead of time(i.e. NOW!).
