The battery probably did not need to be replaced, it probably just discharged all of its power in that time. A simple charge to the battery probably would have fixed it.
The oil leak, if it wasn't there before, probably happened because the car sat there for all that time. It is to an age where rubber componets start to get too old. When no oil is on the gasket it fries up and cracks. It is possible to be other things, but it sounds like a dried up seal to me.
The exhaust manfold leak probably was there when you sold it. It may have been only the size of a pin hole. If they took it to a shop they would find it easy, but unless you're into cars you probably wouldn't notice it, except it might be a little louded in the car. Or the check engine light might come on.
The bulbs, they either die after age or burn out because of an electrical short. My bet is they were just old.
Headlights probably run $20 a pair, or if the bulds are marker, blinkers, etc it would be like $5, just for the bulb.
The oil leak needs to be found in order to see how much it would cost to repair it. Could be just a loose bolt that needs tightening to fix it. If you're a diy'er a manifold gasket is cheap, you have to take the manifold off though, and that takes some time. A good battery will cost about $50-75. Like i said though, the old one probably needs just a charge.
Hope this helps

First of all the vehicle is old. I had a 89 Jeep Cherokee Laredo that sat for just a week and had a oil spot under it. And no way in hell all those repairs that need to be fixed would coast 2000 even if you had a shop do it all. A new batt under $100, depending on where the oil leak is, it most of the times is a pan gasket or valve cover gasket. under a $100 Exhaust manifold gasket is under $100 bucks again, and two light bulbs at the most is under a hundred.
Ask for a repair bill to prove it would be $2000.

WTF??? I don't think your neighbor is really a true friend. How can they honestly say that all of that was your fault when it had been sitting from 5 weeks??!! Everybody know you can't let vehicles sit for long periods of time. What a bunch of jerks.
Anywho, the battery probably only needs charging (jump start), the oil leak, as mentioned above, most likely a cracked seal. The bulbs are just old, and the exhaust manifold gasket was probably there when you sold it, but it was obviously not a huge problem at the time. Good Luck.

You don't owe anything to your neighbors. The vehicle is almost 15 years old. All of the items are normal wear and tear. They cannot legally hold your responsible.

They are just trying it on, if they ha dbought it from any where else they would of hardly contacted the vendor over blow bulbs! I ask you, after 5 weeks too!
It's only because they are next door, if you want to keep them sweet offer to pay half and no more, otherwise blow them off Honey!

any battery will die if you let it set long enough...jeeps come standard with oil leaks...you probably never noticed it because they leak when running usually going down the road....gasket was about to go ...bulbs burn out ....you did not lose much from the sounds of it...they would probably complain about a new coffin at there funeral...

Well you don't owe them anything but you did screw them... You knowingly sold them a Chrysler product. I hope you are able to sleep at night.
And its a good idea to NEVER sell a car to a friend. No matter what. Because this sort of thing is bound to happen.

Let the buyer beware. Even if all those problems were your fault, it's HERS for not inspecting the vehicle good enough prior to purchase.
Tough poop for her dumb ***.
