Just eat healthier things instead of suppressing hunger. Although a healthy appetite suppressant is spirulina. See site below under greens drinks. Then click on home page for free information on exercise and diet for losing weight.

Many celebritiesrecommend new fad diets etc. but if you want to be a healthy weight, lead a healthy lifestyle. I just rode my bicycle 4000km in a month, and even though I don't know how much you eat a day, I can almost assure you I ate more on that trip. The trick is eat a BALANCED diet, and exercise. You will get to the point where the thought of fast food will make you cringe with disgust.

I am assuming you eat at home, so you will need to make sure the person bringing in the money buys deent food for you. I have a bag of apples, a bag of pears and a 3L bottle of water in my bedroom to snack on if I get hungry/thirsty. Juice is a good substitute for water in that example too. You will find that by drinking a lot you will be less hungry too. Unfortunately, eating due to boredom will not be prevented like this, but hey, at least ti will be healthier!

A simple form of exercise to start on is walking or light cycling. Make sure you go for AT LEAST thirty minutes AT LEAST 3 times a week. To keep motivated, walk with a friend, or make walking the dog a chore you have to do (if you don't have a dog, walk the neighbours!).

In the end it is up to you, as far as weight gain goes, the only criteria is to burn more than you eat, but by eating healthy you can aid that process and help out your body. Put a picture of someone who inspires you on the wall, or a picture of how you used to be on your mirror. Even write encouraging messages on your mirror. I find the focus of Bruce Lee inspirational, so when I have a big task a head of me, like boxing a better fighter etc. I put his picture up and am constantly inspired to strive harder.

That is all I can think of for now. You will naturally will gain muscle mass, so might not notice your weight change much initially, however do not fear that. The increase in size will be negligable, most weight will be in density.

Good Luck!!!!

I almost didn't want to come to answer this question and this is why---you are 5-4 and you weigh 115----- - I can remember going to see my sister in the hospital and she said I looked so thin she wanted to know how much I weighed- 127 I am just about your height. I am definately a far cry from that weight now! It is so hard for me to not to get excited at you, your weight is more than fine;and I am almost sure your tummy isn't getting to big either. You just have to stop drinking any drinks that have carbonation in it. Just plain water. make sure it doesn't say carbonated on the label. Talking walks are very good and nice as well. Don't eat alot of jun k food and don't eat junk food in between meals and don't eat after 6or 7 at night.

you dont suppress hunger - you make sure you eat enough and frequently.
since we cant spot reduce body fat the only way to get rid of belly fat is by lowering body fat percentage.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
sit ups do not burn fat - all they do is build muscle and make your belly look bigger
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

i lost 50 pounds by going to the weightwatcher's website and using their sample menus to figure out a daily menu for myself for free. I would walk for 30 minutes a day, also.

i ate the same thing every day for 6 months and lost about 2 pounds a week.

with weightwatchers, you eat heaps of food, so you don't get hungry, and if you use the website you can do it without paying them any money.

the only drawback has been that i am really sick of those foods now! hehe
