Hello, ive been suffering from constipation and lower back pain for about 6 months.
I think they are related. I don't know what to do!
IT hurts really bad. I had just seen my doctor 2 months ago, she said to drink prune juice with every meal. I do that and it doesn't work, I told my doctor that a week ago and she said to continue drinking prune juice.
I don't get it. It really doesn't work.The only way i go is with a laxative.And it still doesn't work fully. I'm tring not to take laxatives because i don't want to be addicted. I go like once every 6 or 7 days with a laxitive.
Can someone help me? I'm only 17 years old, I don't want to deal with lower back pain with constipation anymore?

Constipation can certainly lead to lower back pain. Try some stool softeners instead of laxatives. They can relieve constipation without the harsh chemicals of laxatives, and can be taken regularly without addiction. You probably need to change your diet, too. Avoid junk foods, and eat plenty of fruits and veggies.

Constipation can certainly cause back pain. the best way to get your intestines functioning normally is to start taking Metamulcil powder 1tsp. first thing in the morning with a large glass of water and repeat before lunch and before bedtime. It's not going to work as fast as a laxative, but it's natural and will get your intestines working like they should. You need to start eating brown rice and Oatmeal every day for the rich fiber. Eat apples, Watermelon, shredded carrots and celery every day. These are foods that are going to help get the intestines working.

a natural laxative is to soak 1/2c. flaxseed overnight in water. In the morning place this in a blender with one banana. Eat only this for breakfast and by the evening you will have a bowel movement.

Your problem needs to be addressed elsewhere instead of treating constipation. attacking constipation is only attacking the symptom. you need to attack the cause so that you don't suffer again, ever.

Constipation happens because of various things. Try to see if you fall into the categories mentioned below;

1. Untimely eating
2. Eating a lot of raw foods
3. Eating foods cooked previous day
4. Eating Cold / refrigerated foods
5. Eating in a hurry without chewing
6. Lying down soon after eating
7. Talking while eating or watching TV or whatever
8. Drinking a lot of aerated drinks, sodas etc.
9. Eating lots of Junk food, especially made of white flour

Other Habits;

1. Sleeping late
2. Getting out of bed late, lazing in bed even though awake
3. Holding on to urine & stools in lieu of some other activity (probably you were / or may be still doing it)
4. Holding on to thoughts, not letting go of thoughts

Stop all these, you will find yourself improving. Medication alone is a useless alternative, rather it not an alternative.

Drink lots of water, but not with food. Drink after 1/2 an hour. See the results for yourself.

Here are the remedies;

1. Drink 1 tsp of Castor Oil early in the morning as soon as you get up. Do this for 10 days.

2. Consume 100 ml of freshly prepared lightly steamed Spinach juice mixed with 1/2 the quantity of water for 15 days, after Lunch & Dinner
