...even though the poor kid apologized to him immediately & agreed to clean up the mess.

Was it correct of my neighbor to treat his son like that?

Not at all, I spent many a year living next to a man that sounds just like that. My dearest friend went through hell because of her farther, He even threw my friend down a flight of stairs. And kicked her repeatedly infront of her 6 other brothers and sisters and her own mother. It wasn't until years later that I found all this out.

I lived next door to that kind of behaviour and if I had know what was going on then I deffinately would have done something to stop it. Bel me the abuse in asian familes is horrific yet no-one knows about it.

I come from an asian background and have seen what it does to children. The children take the beating because its the way they are being bought up, but its not right. Please help the little boy please!!!!!

while college starts off it somewhat is beneficial to inform the boy's college which you have witnessed the daddy abusing the son. Calling CPS is iffy. mum and dad are allowed to discipline their little ones. particularly than report abuse, it somewhat is beneficial to be very attentive to something seen to be an significant different and young little ones disturbance. As in, i'm not sure what's going on over there, yet a newborn is screaming. it somewhat is okay to call the police. in case you do not % your neighbor to renowned you stated, which he probable figures besides, in basic terms state as a lot to the police. talk with different acquaintances and function them be conscious, in basic terms in case. Alert the condominium maintenence. possibly they might go in and verify the smoke detectors or something in case you have faith the newborn is being injury. Ask in the event that they had recommendations in case you called.

No that's totally wrong. That's child abuse. I can't stand parents who hit their children. I mean a tap on the hand is one thing but to actually hit a child with a curtain rod is just wrong.

THAT was abuse.Even if he had told the kid BEFORE not to bring the milk in there a curtain rod was the wrong thing, a smack on the butt would have sufficed if the kid had been warned. If not warned, then the parent should have not spanked him.

Yes it was the correct thing to do. Now his son will never make the same mistake again. If he didn't beat his son, then the kid will keep repeating the same mistake and will get away with apologizing for each time.

uh no! if you whitnessed it call family services/child protective services.
unfortunatly other countries have different views on punishment and they often carry them to new countries. immigrants do as they did where they came from and often times it doesn't jive with how we do things here.
in india it might be socialy acceptable to beat a child like that, here it's considered abuse.
it's never right to beat a child with a weapon or instrument.
spanking is one thing

no it really wasn't. he's a bad person if he can hurt his own child. But they have their own tradicions, standarts and they think it's right to act like that. It really isnt the fathers fault, because he must be raised that way by his parents, but its a shame that his kid will be just like him..

You should report your neighbor to the police. He should go to jail for child abuse!

what do you think? my Indian neighbor moved in, is a doctor, and hasn't bought a damn piece of furniture for his poor family to sit on. no TV, and his wife washes the clothes by hand. cheap-***, if you ask me. i feel like calling CPS on him.
