Mix milk & eggs in a bowl
Dip slices of bread in it until soaked
Fry in hot oil until browned.
It's as simple as that.
Other things are sometimes added - cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla etc - some people even use orange juice instead of the milk
EDIT: Nice to see the TD trolls have hit this question - OR MAYBE THE ONLY PERSON TO GET TUs, AT THE TIME THIS EDIT WAS ADDED, HAS DONE IT TO EVERYONE ELSE TO MAKE THEIR ANSWER LOOK BETTER

French Toast INGREDIENTS: 4 eggs 1 teaspoon sugar, optional 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup milk 10 to 12 slices white bread butter maple syrup or other syrup PREPARATION: Break eggs into a wide, shallow bowl or pie plate; beat lightly with a fork. Stir in sugar, salt, and milk. Over medium-low heat, heat griddle or skillet coated with a thin layer of butter or margarine. Place the bread slices, one at a time, into the bowl or plate, letting slices soak up egg mixture for a few seconds, then carefully turn to coat the other side. Soak/coat only as many slices as you will be cooking at one time. Transfer bread slices to griddle or skillet, heating slowly until bottom is golden brown. Turn and brown the other side. Serve French toast hot with butter and syrup. Recipe for French toast serves 4.

**Fruity French Toast**
Ingredients
Bread of your choice (white, wholemeal, French loaf, etc)
1 egg
2 tsp honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
3 tbsp orange juice or juice of your choice
Method
Beat the egg, juice, honey and cinnamon powder thoroughly. Briefly soak the bread in the egg mix.
Heat up a non-stick pan or use a non-stick spray on your regular pan. Lightly brown bread on both sides.
Serve with fruit compote, butter or jam.
A healthier alternative is to serve with lots of local fruits and nuts or even dried fruits like sultanas, apple, pear and apricots, etc

Beat together:
4 eggs
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. cinnemon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. sugar
Melt 1 tbs. butter in a heavy pan on medium heat. Submerge any kind of bread a slice at a time into egg mixture and then onto pan. Cook about 2-3 minutes per side, flipping when brown on the bottom. Serve warm with syrup.
Note: Slightly stale bread works best--just leave the slices out overnight.

I know someone here will help you with the full recipe but...
Here is a good add in. Instead of using milk with the eggs that you dip your bread in use French Vanilla coffee creamer. Just replace the milk and sugar you might add with the French Vanilla coffee creamer. You might want to still add half the sugar the recipe calls for if you like them really sweet.
Cinamon always tastes better with the French Vanilla substitue. MMmm..mmm.. good.

It's pretty easy!
1) Get a bowl, two eggs, bread, some sugar (optional) and some cinnamon. You can also add a little nutmeg for flavor.
2) Crack the eggs into the bowl and stir in your sugar and spices.
3) Dip the bread (both sides) flat into the bowl to soak up the egg mix.
4) Fry in a pan with butter (or oil) like a pancake.
5) Put syrup and powdered sugar (optional) on them and enjoy!
Hope this helps!

Whisk together one egg, a little milk, and a dash of cinnamon in a shallow dish. Put a slice of bread in the mixture, soaking it on both sides. Heat up a pan on medium heat and add a bit of butter. When warm, put on the slice of bread and turn as soon as one side is brown. Let the other side brown and there you go - yummy french toast!

I like the idea with the swirl bread ! I put 2 eggs, milk, and cinnamon in a blender, and pour in a pie plate, coat each side of the bread , and cook just until lightly browned on each side in a pan that you have sprayed with Pam
