Never seen a rape box.. I have to agree with Greekman.. I would do the AI ..
Have you ever actually bred a dog ? The idea that a female is in heat, and will breed with a dog willingly, is a nice one.. But you have females who just plain aren't interested in breeding.. gorgeous dog, excellent drives, great temperament.. Just not interested.. Should she be pulled from breeding just cause she doesn't like males jumping her? Is that a trait that would make her worthless as a breeding dog??
I would rather have a b itch that was harder to breed, than some soft mush of a dog that was afraid of her own shadow..
If the long in body dog, with low tailset and bad bite is the easy one to breed, is she the one to breed and a better dog because she likes to breed males??
The thing is too.. In the wild.. Alpha male and alpha female breed.. You think alpha female wants to breed with the dog that is weak and soft?? NO she wants to breed with the dog that will produce the best litter possible.. If things were done as they should be technically.. Instead of man deciding.. Only the stronger dogs would be the ones breeding.. Not fluffy on the couch, not little short legged dog bred to sit on your lap... The strong dogs would breed, thus producing the strong dogs.. The male wants the opportunity to breed with alpha female, then he had better show that he is worthy of it.. SO she acts aggressive and makes him pass the test..
So an aggressive acting female when it comes to breeding, isn't necessarily an aggressive female... You have to be worthy to breed.. If your not, then you should be at home sitting on the couch...
Man decides who should be bred and we have these dogs that are scared, hard to train, afraid of storms, and everything else.. In the real world.. these dogs would never be bred.. They would be bottom of the pack and wouldn't even have a chance to breed.. The little breeds we have today.. these designer things.. would all die out very quickly.. Breeds that can't whelp on their own.. wouldn't survive.. The strong dogs survive.. You want to breed w/ a strong dog, you had better be able to stand the heat! Where would we be if all dogs were bred by bybers ?? No one would want a dog that is fearful, spoiled, untrainable.. and does nothing but sit around waiting to jump into your purse.. You have to breed with the strong dogs to keep dogs.. dogs!

Wow, I've never heard of a "rape box". I will say that when you use the term "agressive" it could mean several different things. I am a little more into horses and we owned a stallion that while some mares he covered and was a true romantic about it, some and I have no idea why he was very nasty with. Both the mare and the stallion do not need to be injured so there are other ways, AI, which can include mounting dummies or even handlers collecting the semen. Before AI though some mares were hobbled so as not the kick the stallion and vice versa mares were protected in various ways from unruly stallions. Did they call it rape? LOL they are animals and are bred for a purpose not humans...

I love the answers you got so far. I am not sure what a "rape box" is, but, there are other ways to breed an aggressive dog. There are dogs in Europe that are bred because of their aggression level and because they produce dogs that can and do compete in sports such as NVBK, KNPV, Sch, IPO, etc and also get trained as police dogs and military dogs, despite what the bleeding hearts here tell you. If t was up to them, we would not have any dogs capable of working. Anyway, these dogs are taken to the vet where semen is extracted and frozen. People interested in them will have the semen send to them and they do their breeding. A lot of males are too aggressive to breed and have to be bred this way. I hope I have helped.
ADD: DP, AMEN, someone gets it.....

The only people who would use the type of term must be people who breed dog who fight. I find it very offensive.
Like Greekman has said if someone has a aggressive dog in the working field as he has described, and the lines are to be carried out the dogs semen is extracted and then frozen to be inseminated into the female. No good breeder would allow the dogs to be harmed in any way.
Your average reputable breeder would not allow a overly aggressive dog to breed in the first place. It would not be in their best interest to do so.

Umm I like cookies! and I think they are pathetic but then when you consider how many dogs are put down because of mental illness that causes them to be put down(yes aggressive dogs ARE mentally ill, I just a couple months ago had to put a dog we adopted unknowingly down as he was attacking everyone and we had barricaded ourselves in bedrooms one too many times when he lost it) basically you are breeding an animal that will not be fit mentally, which leads to wondering what other traits the dog is genetically wired for, maybe you should get your dog fixed eh? then you dont need to worry about a rape box to begin with, they often eat the pups anyways as they are not mentally right.

YES to both. They are not necessary as aggressive dogs should not be bred. In a perfect world, there would be no aggressive dogs...or sick evil NFL players. Couldn't help getting that opinion out one more time- not been able to eat since the story broke.

Why in the world would you want to breed an aggressive dog? Most ethical breeders breed their dogs for temperament. They want to breed healthy, non-aggressive dogs that promote excellence in their breed. By breeding an aggressive dog one can only assume that you are breeding this dog for unethical purposes and certaintly not to promote breed excellence.

Why on earth would anyone want to breed an aggressive dog to begin with? So obviously unethical AND unnecessary.

Do not breed an aggressive dog. Get it spayed/neutered ASAP. There is a pet overpopulation problem.
