they like all fruit bananas are just a stereotype, but bananas are easy to store, since they convert starch to sugar instead of the other way around when they are picked they start to break down the starch into sugar so they get sweeter with age and store well, since they get sweeter with age

I am not sure that they do. That is just a popular thing to show on TV and in cartoons, but I am not sure that real monkeys really like bananas. But I am not sure they don't either. I haven't researched the subject. If you really want to know, do some research on zoology web sites or whatever.

Monkeys like all fruit, and some species even like the occasional piece of meat. We just think they like bananas the most because that's what we as humans have portrayed them as liking.

I'm sure they'd like pizza just as well , if they were given it .
If you ask a vet , about a pet monkey , I'm sure he'd recommend Pedigree or something !

actually, that's a fallacy.
Monkeys tend to eat shoots, leaves, small fruit, grubs, insects, and the stray rodent. Chimps eat larger fruit like bananas.
