I have tried everything I and my vet can think of to give to my Rat Terrier. She will be fine for about 3 months and start vomiting. She is now on Purina and has been for 6 months and recently she started vomiting again. She is 1 month pregnant tho I dont belive that is the problem. I have raised Rat terriers for years and she is the first one I have ever had that has this problem. Even the food for sensitive stomachs will not work. The unborn puppies already have been spoken for and are going to pre-screened homes. People I already know. Plz if you can help let me know. I have already tried raw food same situation.

The dog is not sick and because of her age the vet prefers not to spay her. She is 9 years old. She is not losing weight and is not constantly vomiting. As I said before I have these dogs for years.

I sure would recommend emailing this person: http://www.greatdanelady.com/
She is a canine nutritionist and I am sure she would be happy to help. Very nice lady!
But, I think your dog is lacking pro-biotics, and not creating her own intestinal flora. A additive to her food such as DanActive may be of big help.
Have you tried the holistic dog foods?Such as Innova, Karma, Wellness? They have digestive enzymes and probiotics in them

It sounds like there is more going on than an upset tummy. You should ask the vet to run some tests. If they already have make them run more, if that doesn't work take the dog to a new vet. I had a similar situation and after a year and seven different vets, I found out my Charlie had cancer and it was to late to do any thing for him. So please figure out for sure what is going on with her!!! Also I agree that it probably wasn't a good idea to breed her. Good luck!

Why on earth would you breed a dog with health problems? The dog probably feels miserable. If she can't eat,her puppies won't develop right,or else they will take all of the nutrition from her and sap her strength. She should have been spayed.Poor thing.I don't know why you would breed a sick dog!! Get some common sense and have her spayed.
I would say that if she vomits all the time, then she's not in the best of health, and your vet does not know what she is talking about,if you even have a vet!
Nine is way too old to be having puppies! But it is NOT too old to spay her;it's bad not to,as the older a dog gets, the more likely they are to develop Pyometra,an often fatal uterine infection. But if you want to possibly kill your dog,it's up to you.

Some dogs get sick if they get too hungry, maybe you should put her on a blan diet of macaroni noodles or any type pasta for a bit,you can cook it in chicken broth for flavor and add some in the bowl,if this doesn't work, try feeding her bread pieces throughout the day,not too much, just two to three times in between meal times. This should help absorb any acid in her tummy and it may settle her tummy enough to eat.

Make sure that the dog is not eating it's own feces when you let it out to go or chewing on grass or leaves of plants or tree bark, also what’s wrong with switching the food every couple of months, it's not like there aren't plenty of food options. I would let the new owners know that the mother has this problem, it's wrong if you don't. Good luck.

Our vet told us to try just plain white rice, and if she can keep that down add a little beef or chicken broth
