I just started dating this girl (aprox. 3 weeks) and it is her birthday. I feel it too soon to "go all out" as it were, however I should do something.

Here are some stats:
She is an art major and eventually wants to be an art therapist. Comes from an affluent family but is not materialistic. 21 yrs of age. Short and petite. Kind of silly (okay can be really silly).

Any help you can give me would be great!

i made this video for my boyfriend of two months for his birthday. it had our song on it and i took a bunch of our photos and video clips of eachother laughing and stuff and threw it together using windows movie maker.

its quite simple. im not a computer nerd but i got by fairly well.

and i put it on youtube. so on the birthday card, it had the little hallmark whatevers and i signed it and all. then on the back, it had the url. i told him to type it in. he put it on his myspace, he loved it so much.

its simple and sweet. doesnt cost you anything but time.

hmm if she likes art, then maybe you can do something special for her thats not all out and you dnt necessarily have to purchase her gift either, you can like draw a picture for her not a random w/e picture but one that has some sort of meaning to it and frame it, or maybe u can "attempt" to paint/draw a picture of her and frame it and give it to her, or just anything thats creative! i think it'll be a great present becuz she likes art and it'll show how much you acknowledge/support her interests and that she can see a bit of ur artsy side as well (: goodluck! hope this help!

How about a giftcard to an arts and crafts store? It's the only thing I can think of.

If she's into calligraphy (most of those artsy types are) you could get her a calligraphy pen/pen set. They're usually not too pricy, and it's a pretty non-menacing gift.
