A donkey was tied to a rope six feet long. A bale of hay was 18 feet away and the donkey wanted to eat the hay. How could he do it?

The other end of the rope was not tied to anything so the donkey could just walk up to the bale of hay and have a feast! I know because I was the one who forgot to tie the other end and got the sack! LOL!!!
