The officer didnt give me a ticket. Instead he gave me a paper that told me i had to appear in court. I was going 62 in a 45 in ct. I have had 1 other speeding ticket a stop sign ticket and 2 parking tickets in the last year. What do you think will happen when i go to court.

If you were guilty on the previous speeding, and stop sign citations, and you are found guilty on this speeding citation, you're license will be suspended. Because you have had three moving violations within the last 12 months, you can also expect your insurance to go up.

It seems that if he gave you a paper to appear in court, that is the ticket. I got a ticket while speeding in a school zone and had to go to court. I admitted to the judge that I was careless. He had me pay a very reasonable amount and if I would've taken a class I could've got it off my record. Just cooperate and be respectful.

It's a mini-trial.

I say "mini" because traffic court often doesn't have the same complexities as other criminal proceedings, because usually the maximum penalty is a fine and/or loss of license.

What will happen is that you will appear before a judge, and evidence will be presented, and the judge will determine if you are guilty of the offense for which you were cited.

in most states going 15 miles over the speed limit will lead to a revoked license and fine and maybe some jail time.

good luck.

get your self a lawyer and have him represent you. you may not need to go to court but that is between you and the lawyer.

slowdown....

Learn from your mistakes now. I have had eight speeding tickets in my driving career....all in my first 5 years driving. my insurance was very high for several years.

So go to court, pay the fines, and quit driving like an idiot..I did, and now, five years later, my insurance is back to normal and my record is clean.
