Army regulation (AR) 608-99 paragraphs 3-7 provide guidance related to the administrative processing of paternity claims and issues. Contact JAG. Although JAG will provide guidance, paternity issues are a matter of civilian resolution handled on the state level. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) has programs that can locate the mother and establish paternity. Contact your LOCAL CSE office. This is true, the army will not cover the paternity test. My son was born in germany. In order to get all the paperwork started I had to pay 1500 for a paternity test. In order to get your daughter in deers, you need to have custody rights if you already dont have. If you don't and still can't get ahold of the mother then the next best thing is to set up an appointment with your legal office. They will be able to help you.

do not depart the army over a splash subject like that. issues will sort themselves out. They consistently do. you have sole custody of your daughter, and via staying in, you gets the stablility of a house no count number what and the monetary assist you ought to boost your daughter. even nevertheless you be conscious of your daughter is yours, the main suitable element to do ideal now, is to basically placed up a DNA pattern for a paternity attempt to make the army chuffed.

you MUST prove paternity. scrape up the money for the DNA test. If you have to, go to Army Emergency Relief and get a no interest loan.

you cannot randomly show up with a potential dependent in tow and expect the military to blindly give them all the benefits a bona fide dependent is entitled to. you must prove that they truly are your dependent.

AER do you donate? Use this service even if you don't. You have to ask questions on post. If you have a First Sgt that is not half bad he can help. You have a battalion legal guy use him/her to get an appointment at legal. Don't go thru the blockade but around.

Until you can prove that the child is yours, she cannot be inputted into DEERS. You either need to pay for the DNA test out of pocket, or adopt her. It will be cheaper, and quicker, if you pay out of pocket for the test.

Good luck

Who is listed as father on her birth certificate?

If you are you should not have these type of problems with getting her on DEERS. I am surprise because there are many "Stepchildren" that are enrolled on DEERS with no problems.

Contact JAG
