How many dates(3,4,5?) does it take before you can have "the talk" or how many weeks of knowing each other?

there are no standards --- you just see how you go --- sometimes you know in the first few minutes --- sometimes it takes a few dates to get to know them well enough to know if you want to keep seeing them --- for my lady and it was at hello --- it took me a few days to realise but then i knew that i wanted no one else ever --- and im an old fart with a 30 year (failed) marriage behind me

There is no true set time for that convo but most women I have dated, or talk too already have an idea by the thrid date or first kiss if they really want to spend any real time to build a relationship with you. now if you two have been dating more than for weeks and have been together each weekend or more trust me on this she will hint at it. Like oh next weekend can you come over an we just stay in. This is a clear sing she wants to see how you handle being with her in her safe zone.
For us guys committing is the big issue there are so many lovely women so little time, but the truth is sleeping with all those pretty women mean ****. You have to find a companion yo be happy in this life i hope you find that good luck.

Someone sooner or later has to make a move when the feelings and the time is right. How is the dating progressing? Or is it getting stagnent? Throw some hints out, any cheek pecking going on or is it slowly getting better than that? Like I said someone gotta make a move if the feelings are right. Don't put a time frame to it, just let it go its course, something has gotta give though.

"Define the Relationship"

Are we talking about dating someone or making a business deal?

I guess I've been out of dating for a bit too long if two people who want to see each other have to sit down and have a specific talk at a specific time to define the relationship they are supposed to be spontaneously enjoying.

Man I'm old!

Define "date" first....are you guys already having sex? If you are the "talk" should have happened before that.

I hate that talk. Is it really necessary? Why can't things just be what they are and develop naturally?

Once it's clear that the relationship might go somewhere.

I think that's something you will probably already know.
