Your question is a bit vague. Certainly the .45 acp Luger is way up there value wise. The Korth revolver/pistols are very high dollar. The Winchester revolver(s) are rare n valuble. The European Nitro Express Double Rifles are also really high dollar. Guns once owned by notorious personages (such as the Kennedy Rifle and the revolver used to kill Jack Ruby) are also very expensive. Custom made rifles for shahs and kings enlayed with gold, platinum and jewels can go into the millions.

So you see, this question can be answered many ways.

Best.

Back when the Luger 9mm was invented the U.S. Army was thinking about a new side arm. They did not like the 9mm and wanted to stay with the .45 caliber. Luger made two .45 Cal. Lugers and sent them to the U.S. Army for testing. One of the guns was used extensively and pretty much shot to pieces during the test. It was later destroyed. The remaining Luger (serial #2), now the only .45 ACP Luger in existence, is in some private collection. Some years ago it was valued at $1,000,000.

The NRA museum in Washington DC has a Colt SSA with 100% coverage engraving as well as gold inlay, Special grips, etc, that they estimate would auction for over a million dollars were it ever to be sold. It was presented to some obscure European Royalty and made it's way back home through some convoluted adventure. If I could choose one or the other for myself though, I'd take the .45 Luger mentioned above.

One of two remaining .45 ACP Luger made in 1905 for US Army Field trials sold for somewhat over $1 Million USD a few years ago.

There might be some highly engraved and decorated firearms that go for a higher price, but I've never heard of them.

That .45 ACP Luger sounds sweet!

Are you asking all together the most expensive gun? That sounds like the winner, but if you are wondering about what is the most expensive gun for sale to the general public. Then my thought would be the Barrett Model 82 A1/M107 .50 BMG. This gun retails for around $8,050.00. That is a pretty expensive gun for general public sales. But if that isn't what your question was about, then that .45 ACP Luger sounds like the one.

If NEW production is the criteria (as opposed to a .45ACP Luger), I would say that it is a tie between precision customguns built to order or some of the finer, engraved Perazzi shotguns.
