You, as an employee, are a representative of the business. It is your responsibility to give the violation notice to your boss, and it will be up to him to show up in court with the proper license, or permit.

Is the ticket issued to you personally, that is, is it in your name? Or is it issued to the business name? Talk to your boss. Sounds like the business does not have the necessary permit to operate the parking lot. If the owners do not support you and If you are stuck going to court; explain to the judge you are just a low level employee, that you don't run the lot, and that the owner just hung you out to dry. The judge will probably dismiss your ticket and tell the prosecutor to go after the owner.

Frankly, I am surprised that the officers did not ask for the owner or manager before issuing you the ticket.

What is your job at the parking lot. If there is no valet parking, and you are not working for the service the ticket is something you can fight in court.

Yes, the police do have the right to give you a ticket. You were the person there doing the work without a permit. I don't have the full legal advice that you need to deal with your company, but at the least they should be paying that for you!

Give it to your boss and then call the police with the info on who your boss is and tell them that you gave the ticket to them.
