Involved only as an investigator. Please take it from me, do not leave the scene of an accident until proper authorities are notified and required actions completed. If you do, your problems will increase tenfold. No matter what, it's just not worth it.

A guy I worked with got his license and within an hour, rear-ended a girl that recognized him from school (idiot!). He just drove off, and so had to go to court.
