....standing next to the tin man, the ideal fire-hydrant of a dog's dreams. Didn't anyone else notice how rusted out the tinman kept getting despite no rain?

The Scarecrow didnt get a brain, he had the knowledge all along. Tin Man didnt get a heart because he had one all the while. The Lion never got courage because he already had the courage to speak up to the wizard. Dorothy never got to go home because she was already at home in bed with one wild dream. Toto got to escape out of the basket of that witch on the bicycle. Good question.

Toto got to go on a wild adventure. He got to do things that other dogs only dream of. That's the reason for the whole story. Toto was bored at the farm and wanted a new life. That's why he went with the old lady to begin with. The whole story was about Toto and all of the things he caused.

All Dorothy wanted to get her dog and take him home but Toto wanted an adventure. Everyone got what they wanted in the end but it was all because of Toto and his failure to see what he already had.

Toto ended up getting married to Dorothy. They moved away from her families farm and went to New York to get away from all the tornadoes. After Dorothy gave birth to a litter of 6 "children" Toto began to have a drinking problem. After three years of living in the city off of welfare Toto ended his own life by jumping in front of a car. Dorothy went crazy and ate all of the children. From what I've heard she's still living in the city at a psych ward.

So for a while...Toto had a family of his own.

Moral of the story...Don't marry outside of your species.

Toto didn't get anything, apart from getting to spend time with his friend Dorothy.

He had everything he needed so he didn't have to get anything. I suppose like Dorothy he wanted to go home too...and he did.
