Obviously, yes. For the Bible tells us so.

Don't confuse murder with execution. As a God whose holiness is beyond our comprehension, He was not simply randomly murdering people; He was commanding the execution of people whose actions seriously violated His holy standard. The tribes occupying the area of Israel before the Jews entered were entirely debauched cultures who were vile in God's eyes - Having reached the end of His patience and mercy, He commanded their elimination as a just recompense for their evil behaviors.

In addition, all but one of your quotes is from the Old Testament, when God ruled the Jews as a theocracy. Now that we are under the New Testament, no Christian has any right or excuse for killing anyone - except perhaps legitimate self-defense. The one quote you do have from the New Testament is a parable, a story designed to prove a point, not to be taken literally.

Notice how God views actual Murder throughout the Bible - it repulses Him, and he punishes the one committing it. In Genesis, He commands that if anyone murders someone, the murderer is to be put to death. When David arranged for the death of Uriah, God punished David with extended, painful, and publicly shameful discipline.

It is an indicator of how seriously God views things like adultery, murder, and even rebelling against one's parents, that He punished such offenses in the Old Testament by executing the guilty.

We has humans are an amazing creation so much so that we forget that we did not create ourselves. Whether we like it are not we don't belong to ourselves. At the end of the world we are all going to have to live somewhere and based on Christian believe it's either Heaven or Hell.

But let get back to pointing our finger at God I suspect if we were as good as God expect us to be then we could sit in judgment of God but while we hated God and hate Jesus he died on that cross so that those who chose to believe wouldn't have to face God's wrath.

Passage Matthew 7:11:

11"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, (A)how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
--------------------------------------------
OK maybe Jesus didn't have to be one to go up on that cross to save mankind so God looked In Heaven and in the Earth to find that one good person to be the scarify for mankind's sins and here's what he found.

Passage Psalm 14:3:

3They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

"quite i be conscious of the common Christian answer. it extremely is asserted that if a guy or woman extremely believes in that Jesus is the son of God, they are going to visit heaven no count number what the crime." incorrect. they ought to quite be sorry and repent. Repenting incorporates taking despite punishment they had ought to stand. The ideals of Muslims (from what i've got discovered) are that the terrorists did incorrect, and are going to Hell.

God lawfully has the right to execute judgement upon anyone.

When God authorises the nation of Israel to wipe out a people, it is a lawful execution due to their rebellion and sin against God.

What God does not permit is unjustified killing which is murder.

Killing in self-defence for example is legal, killing in anger or for revenge is not.

Execution of a murderer is legal, killing a victim in the course of a robbery is not.

As I said in my edit, Ezekiel and Isaiah are books of prophecies and warnings. Each prophet was warning the Israelites that these things were going to happen to THEM.

The passage in Luke is a PARABLE. Read the whole chapter.

As for the others, do yourself a favor, and read all the events leading up to those. These were NOT good people.

Read it for yourself.

You have to understand that any time Jehovah God directed his people to kill was because these people well new who Jehovah was. But they chose not to serve him but to serve other false gods, burn thier own children as sacrifices, even so much as eat thier own off spring, God always warned the people and gave them a chance to turn around from thier imoral ways but they refused to. They liked violence, war, imorality, bowing down to images such as stone figures, poles, animals, flags, other people, homosexuality, drunken brawls, tourchering other people, animals, and even thier own families. The sport of the day was to throw people, kids and babies into the center of the ring and watch lions tear them to pieces. Do you think they deserved to die?

Sincerely yours,
Fred M. Hunter

So then, in the instance of war, the killing is murder?
is it wrong to put to death, a murderer?
apparently many people think so.
Of course you totally missed the fact that it was the Jews, not the Christians, that were commanded to put different ones to death.
Christians, have been commanded to return evil for evil to no one.
So, true Christians, will not participate in any warfare, or any act that involves the putting of another human to death.

i'm part of a church, and i'll be the first to admit that the bible is screwy. one thing is undeniable; the bible was written by people. and these people figured that a good way to frighten others into faith is by writing gory stories about how the unfaithful were smote.(haha, love that word)

you can believe in god and be a follower of the christian faith WITHOUT taking the bible completely literally. unfortunately, some denominations choose to follow the bible for every word. people need to remember that it's the principles and spirituality that count!

whether god is violent, peaceful, angry, or loving, i can't be sure. all i know is this: god is just. he will do what he knows is right. after all, justice, as do all things, originates from him.
