The Number 666?

We all know that the number 666 is found in Revelation, right? I know what Bible prophecy experts claim that number to be.

What is your view of 666?

This is a bit ironic. There was a recent translation a few years ago of a 3rd century copy of the new testament. It is officially the oldest known copy.

this copy reveals that the number of the beast is actually 616.

I find that this is very interesting in that when you look at all the biblical literature and all the hoopla about the number of the beast and then come to find out it was all based on the wrong number, a typo if you will.

It is a bit hysterical and frightening at the same time. If you think about it seriously how many people have lived in fear of 666 for centuries. On the lighter side think of all those tattoos that people got and they are wrong, and artwork and the heavy metal albums. That is just funny.

666 is a mistranslation from the oldest surviving version of the New Testament. It was translated so many times from language to language, that it got lost and people replaced the missing number with a 6. The trinity of 6's sounds a lot more intimidating than the actual Number of the Beast, 616, which was found by deciphering the oldest version of the New Testament from one language to English.

Sorry kid - 666 doesn't have any satanic or superstitious meanings.

Actually, I have no clue about what 666 means, it's supposedly the mark of the beast. I'm not sure why it needs to be 666, although God claims 3 (God, Jesus and Holy Ghost), 7 (rest on the seventh day), 4 (the four horses of the apocalypse)...

I better stop, I feel a little "Rain Man"-ish, and psychotic like Jim Carrey in The Number 23.

and 7 is the number of God

any way it refers to the mark that all men must recieve in order to trade, buy, sell things after the rapture.....(mark of the beast)
