What kinda used car should I get on a budget of $10k-$15k? Something with good gas mileage that is known to last...no suvs and no trucks....

Mitsubishi.
i just bought a Mitsubishi Mirage.
there really really good on gas.
there pretty sporty too!
but for 10 K+ i would probably buy an eclipse.
or Lancer.

Get a Volkswagen Jetta or Golf with the turbo diesel. They are plenty quick because of their high torque and they have superb mileage. My uncle has an '04 Jetta TDI and he averages about 40 mpg. The '04s will probably run you more than 15 grand so I would recommend a 2000 or 2001. Get one with a manual transmission. If you don't know how to drive one; learn. They are more reliable than the automatic.

Good gas mileage, lasts forever, no SUV or truck?
I'd get a Honda Accord 2-door or Prelude. They give you Japanese durability and reliability with a European touch of class.
If you really mean business with gas milage and reliability, go for a Toyota Corolla alias Geo Prism.

You can get a very good Civic for that price. Or a Celica, you can even get a decent GTI for that price. Also there are good low mileage VW Golf's for that price! Just go to autotrader.com and you can find whatever you want really! G'luck!

I've got a '98 and only had the water pump go so far. Great mileage and consumer reports rates it awesome. I would buy another one no doubt about it

Get an Intrepid man. Those are nice and they cost around there but get it used because they stopped making them a few years ago but there really nice good quality cars.
