The reaction depends entirely on the guy. I would be filled with the utmost respect for a girl to ask me out. God only knows it takes enough courage to do it no matter what the gender. It may be seen as a taboo in our society and by some guys because of both the way society is set up, and the guy taking the role of initiating a relationship. My reaction would be, depending on whether or not I liked her yes (if I liked her obviously) or no (rarely, but obviously if I see no qualities that I look for). I look for qualities such as intelligent, logical, mature(not much older than myself though), dedicated to some productive extra cirricular activity, and yes of course she has to be some what cute or hot.
I recommend any girl do it whether first or last., to start a relationship. And if you like him and he has his head up his butt (as most guys do) and he won't take cues, then by all means do so.
And the worst reaction you can get is NO.

My reaction is flattery. I am always impressed when a girl asks me out because it shows that she has some guts. I would recommend the girl to do it after she has given the guy a chance to do it.. Some of you girls can be very intimidating so it might take us a few seconds to begin thinking strait after you come in the room.
The worst thing in the world.... is that you hear an excuse of us already having plans.. If the guy says he has plans.. he really doesn't. Just know that it is his loss cause he didn't say yes.. Thats the worst because even if he says no... who really cares in the end? there are many guys out there that would love to date you im sure.

Girls asking me out is cool. It saves me the hassle of attempting to attract her, figuring out if she's attracted, and then asking her out. Instead of all that, she comes already attracted to me! Yay!
The worst she can expect as a reaction is "sorry, I'm busy." Guys don't reject girls harshly. If we did, we would (rightly) be branded as huge jerks.
So if you ask a guy out and he's mean to you when he shoots you down, take some solace in knowing that he's going to be the most unpopular guy in the world within a week.
