He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

"John 12:40
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes,"

The problem here is that this is meant to be taken figuratively. For example it doesn't mean that God literally goes through and decides by hand who will go to hell.

It is describing a certain truth that underlies the statement. This is saying what wicked people consist of (E.G. ignorance, hatred, bigotry, being mouthy.) All things that demean the human race as a whole. The people that perform these things blind themselves to the idea that their way might be wrong. These people never stop to think that maybe mugging people isn't a way to make a living.

The argument here is that maybe they do stop to think. Except the ones that stop and think about what they are doing are not the ones that God is talking about. He is talking about a very specific group of people that are utterly closed off to any possible idea that the bad things they do to themselves and to other people is wrong.

You have to read all the paragraph not just pick out pieces, this is referring to people, that have embraced evil, they have not believed the truth and have delighted in evil, they have been condemned, just like the people in the end times who have not repented, G-D knows their hearts will not change. When some one delights in evil they have chosen Satan as their G-D. So G-D will give them over to a reprobate mind. Let those that are evil be evil still, and those that are filthy be filthy still, G-D knows they will not change. If your are really interested in finding out the truth and what these passages mean see a Reverend or a pastor in any church, don't look to Yahoo for your answers.

Sick? Let's look at that a moment. You keep wanting some kind of satisfaction for hating God. It's in your questions constantly. You hate God.

Then look at what you just told us and everyone else that you are telling about His selection. His choices.

And you think that you are right about rebelling against Him? How intelligent is that making you look? I mean, who's going to win the argument? Not you! No. You are going to get F'd up big time and there is nothing that you can do about it.

If you ask me, and you did, you are the sick one. And I feel sorry for someone when they show this much stupidity day after day. I really feel sorry for you.

So keep it up. It's not me who's going to do a damned thing against you. The one with all the power is going to do that.

And don't tell me that you don't believe in Him. You do. You just picked the wrong end of the horse to stand on.

Have at it Bossy!

God does not want anyone to go to hell but we do have free choice and we must chose to follow the path of Christ.

Here is what the Catechism says -
1037 God predestines no one to go to hell; for this, a willful turning away from God (a mortal sin) is necessary, and persistence in it until the end. In the Eucharistic liturgy and in the daily prayers of her faithful, the Church implores the mercy of God, who does not want "any to perish, but all to come to repentance":

Father, accept this offering
from your whole family.
Grant us your peace in this life,
save us from final damnation,
and count us among those you have chosen.

How dare the Creator of the Universe decide what to do with His creation!
If only He had consulted with you first, I'm sure He would be more reasonable.

It does not say God wants people to go to hell. He gave his only son as a sacrifice in your place, believe in him and you won't go to hell. God made a way for all of us to avoid hell. But not excepting Christ is a one way ticket.

God never wants anyone to go to hell, cuz he made us and he loves us. at the end of our lives, we choose heaven or hell. then we realize how much He loves us, and we would feel so sorry for sinning, that some ppl would choose hell.
