...to go in to where your mate works and make a big scene, yelling out all their perversions in front of co-workers.
You can be sued; I've seen cases like this on JudgeJudy.

ignoring the person, telling someone else and it gets around the school and they are the last person to hear about it, telling his best friend so that he tells him, get caught going out with the dude's enemy, posting it on someone's myspace page and they make it sound like you were the crazy one, calling his house and telling his mom or other family member that things weren't working out and so then when he gets home they tell him you guys are broken up, text message, writing it on the bathroom wall that so and so wasn't the right kind of guy and you had to break up with him cause he had a small "member".

I haven't done any of those, but if you think of the worse and most low down ways people try to break up with people then its most obvious someone has tried this.

any one that breaks up with some one via internet or letter is chicken sh!t! thats all i have to say, do it alone in person, and don't make a scene! If things get ugly walk away!

past experience

OOOOH another one is not having the balls to break up with the person your self and having someone else that is a mutaul friend relay the message, that will get you kicked in the balls by me! thats just low! grow a set!

Well you said phone, but texting is even crueler than talking. By changing your Myspace/Facebook status is pretty bad too.

they're all bad but its how you do it... swiftness is key (get your stuff and makeit a clean break - dont let it linger - just prepare for the emotional fallout and do it.
