Nazarene Church is one of the "holiness" denominations that developed in the mid 1800's and is Arminian in their theology. They would be similar doctrine to Methodists, Salvation Army, Church of God, even Pentacostals except they don't get into the tongues and healing like the Pentacostals. Considered a very good church if you are not Calvanistic.

Most Nazarene Churches are pretty good. 98% of their theology is orthodox Bible based Christianity and the 2% is what makes them uniquely Nazarene. You could just show up or you could call and make an appointment to meet with the Pastor first, if you like. It really does not matter. I know lots of very Godly people who are part of the Nazarene Church. Pastor Art

Depends on what you feel is good and bad. I'll just tell from my perspective.

Good:
1. Missionary work. They do lots of it.
2. Emphasis on the Bible, especially the New Testament. Most of their doctrine is scripturally sound.
3. Most of the churches tend to be modern, yet traditional. They've successfully blended the two.

Bad:
1. They don't allow dancing, of any kind.
2. They don't allow any kind of drinking, even drinking in moderation.
3. They put too much emphasis on tithing, like that it HAS to be 10%.

I would suggest getting a manual from your local Nazarene church and reading it. In all truth, I haven't attended a Nazarene church for almost ten years.
