Me too! It is so cool to find some one so soon on this website who can relate. For me it is chronically stressful and also anxiety producing. It's a vicious circle which never stops. I take meds for it and see my psychologist every week and my psychiatrist about every four weeks. I have known the former for four-five years and the latter for about fifteen years. I'm fortunate. I can trust them. My meds issue is due to two psychotic episodes years ago but my stress level is up as well as my depression and the GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) - and I mean BIG TIME! - has been making me tearful and forgetful and have vivid dreams. My anti-psychotic drugs were just increased about two months ago too. I think the extremely serious and they don't exist at all has to be looked at.

Are important things being overlooked? Would you like talking to a therapist for a few weeks? That might help you in three or four sessions and it would go away possibly. It's worth a try! What do you think?

If you could put your serious issues into your "don't care" issues, you wouldn't have a problem. I bet most of your serious problems aren't that serious anyway. Learn to let things go. Sometimes the things we take too seriously are not as relevant to us as we make them out to be.

Another way is to pay more attention to the things you don't care about. In a strange sort of way, it will help balance out your thought process.

Its hard to live with extremes. They take a toll on your mental well being. If your problem becomes too much to handle, contact a therapist.

Take a deep breath :) Life doesn't always have to be serious, do something you've never done before -even if you feel ridiculous, life is to be enjoyed! What is the point of being worried or concerned all the time? Just try to let things go, flow past you and don't be afraid to act silly or stupid, and don't be afraid to laugh at/with those being silly or stupid as well! Do things you love with people you like. Smile at strangers is always a comforting first step, I think.

I think you need to put things into perspective when you think about them. Is it worth your time? How is this going to affect you in the long run? Should I be paying attention to this? Etc. etc.
