monkeys and humans are more like cousins...we are not descended from monkeys but very closely related

But I understand that all morons are evolved from idiots, and there are still idiots!!

actually monkeys and humans evolved at the SAME TIME from a common ancestor hundreds of thousands of years ago... as in there was something that was monkey like... and it split (genetically) into two groups... one group evolved to be monkeys... the other went on to become human beings... evolution does not state we came from monkeys directly... only that they are our closest genetic relatives - and that common ancestor that we came from, if you haven't noticed, no longer exists...

this isn't the perfect answer... I've simplified it ALOT so people can understand... but this is, for all intents and purposes, the right answer

Humans didn't evolve from a lower species. We have absolutely no evidence in the fossil record that they did.

We have evidence for what is called microevolution, which is nothing more than adaptation within a species, but there is nothing scientifically to suggest that what we call macroevolution, (the changing of one species into another completely different species), occurs in nature. Macroevolution is not science-based, it's speculation-based. Meaning, it takes a leap of faith to believe that just because Galapogas Island finches' beaks change shapes, that somehow those birds could one day change into a cow. They're still finches, and they always will be finches.

Evolutionists will also tell you that we share something like 80% genetic information with chimps. What they will not tell you is that they're only comparing 3% of all chromosomes. So the actual number that we share with chimps is 80% of 3%, which is so small it's negligible.

Jim Crow, you sir, are a deluded and dangerous individual, and should be considered in the same vein as terrorists. You are yet another fine example of religion being used to justify the worst aspects of humanity.

Back to the question, it's exactly like asking..: If people came from their parents, then why are there still parents..

There is no mainsream scientific view that people evolved from monkeys. This is an ignorant christian attempt to misrepresent science in order to more easily tear it down. It is very dishonest and underhanded, and you should consider why religious folk feel the need to stoop to such tactics..

Does this answer you question? It should..!

we didn't evolve from monkeys, humans and apes evolved from a common ancestor species millions of years ago. imagine a tree. the farther we go from the base, the farther we go through time. when the trunk branches off into smaller and smaller branches, those are where species branched off of one another, and as you follow the branches outward, the more the species change. We are at the end of a twig of one branch and chimps are at the end of a nearby twig, as are gorrillas and orangs.
We are on separate twigs, but those twigs meet branches that meet other branches that meet each other farther back in history.
Hope that wasn't too complicated.

Evolution: Matter created mind
Creation: Mind created matter

To create mind, matter must have intelligence, where would such intelligence come from? Intelligence to understand and establish laws before the existence of mind in any form (the laws that control matter)

It is certain, that the laws of matter have been imposed by a superior intelligence, and , consequently, that matter can not be the eternal, self-existent substance, from which all else proceeds

Thoughts, beliefs, souls are non-materialistic in themselves, how would they evolve and from what?

Soli Deo Gloria

The theory isn't that we evolved from monkeys, but rather, that we evolved from a common ancestor. The common ancestor is what's called the missing link.

*drink*

Because humans didn't evolve from monkeys. Scientists believe that apes and humans have a common ancestor.

it's like a fork in the road. monkeys and humans come from the same line that split to become two species of animals that have a common ancestor.
