What should I wear to a baptism?

What should I wear to a baptism, I was thinking a sundress. Keep in mind its going to be in the high 80's.

Also what do you think my fiance should wear he is the godfather. A black suit?

Wear something modest and not see-through. If wearing a dress sew some fishing weights in the hem to keep the dress down. Don't forget the change of clothes, towel and handkerchief.

Ask the child's parents. The church culture in every church is going to be different, so while you could wear anything...if you want to wear something that blends in you should just ask.

For instance, in some churches you could wear shorts and none would bat an eye, but would think a suit was a bit stuffy. At other churches they'd just about bar the door to shorts and love a suit....and some would prefer a woman have her head covered. So its always good to ask....I know once I attended church where everyone really REALLY welcoming...as in it was obvious I was a visitor to their church all because I had on a different kind of hat.

Ask the parents of the baby. A suit or sport coat with slacks is fine with fine nothing flashy. As long as you are not a Godparent, you can wear a demure sundress. It all depends on the church and the part of the country were you live.

That would be appropriate. The godfather could just opt for slacks a shirt and tie

Just wear proper church attire. You'll be fine. Sun dress, no. Black suit for your fiance, yes.

a sun dress would be perferctly acceptale provided that it doesnt show alot of clevage and is atleast to the knea. if your husband is the godfather then he is familer with that particular church and knows what there standards are
