Of the following (semi) deities legends went around that they were born of a virgin: Augustus (his father was the god Apollo)
Agdistis, Attis, Adonis, Buddha, Dionysus, Korybas, Krishna, Mithras, Osirus, Perseus, Romulus and Remus, Tammuz, Zoroaster,,Jesus.
So basically, all the pagan religions were alike, including Christianity. It just happens that one of them got the ascendancy, and became the most powerful, and did its best to wipe out all the others. In addition to a lack of historical support, many characteristics of Jesus, which Christians today believe in, are undeniably similar or identical to religious trends and beliefs that preceded Christianity. There are tens of accounts of pagan gods of many different cultures who were said to have the same attributes as those that Christians claim Jesus had. A brief review of some of these may lead to some interesting questions concerning the originality of the Christian claim.

Ah, denial runs deep The cult of Mithras, Osiris, etc.. So many predate Christianity, yet the denial of the "faithful" does not allow them to see. The preponderance of evidence falls upon blind eyes. Pity the fools, they are deceived by their obedience.

at the time of the building of the tower of Babel, Nimrod / Marduk was in rebellion against God. he took Semiramis for his wife. she was a prostitute so no doubt she invented the pagan worship rituals to legitimize herself and her offspring in the eyes of everyone.

where did she get the idea for emphasizing "mother and child"?
its found in Genesis, "..the seed of the woman.." not that she actually may have heard of it but God's arch rival, the devil had heard it.
and according to the book of Daniel and Ezekiel, demons rule through the earthly rulers.
so pagans can just as likely hear from their "gods" to do things.

the Bible says that pharoah's daughter did a similar thing in making up the story that the child Moses that she rescued from the river was actually her child. it was in keeping with the egyptian beliefs concerning "mother and child".
there is an egyptian statue in a museum of the two of them.

a similar story is found in Zeus and Europa. all those other pagan religions are copies because as many as there are...
their brand of Messiah is not Jewish.
and that is the only one that concerns Jews and christians.

the other gods never actually physically performed any of those "copy" Messiah things.
they just said that they did... like Semiramis, and the egyptian daughter of the pharoah. i read on a website that she was actually Hatshepsut. but that's another story.

in the days of the time of Jesus all those pagan gods were being worshiped in Rome.
in the days of the disciples of Jesus, the Apostle Paul.. all of those pagan gods were being worshiped.
in the days of the Caesars all those pagan gods were being worshiped, and many christians refused to bow down and so were martyred.
in the days of the seven churches addressed by the Apostle John while he was exiled on Patmos, all those pagans were being worshiped.

why is it that christians today in America some how dont think about that?
because today those pagan gods are not being worshiped in every city in America.

and in future during the tribulation - the revived roman empire, the mark of the beast and worship of the image of the beast .. there will likely be worship of the pagan gods again... in America.

but then and now, all christians have to do is see them the way the Apostle Paul spoke of them... worthless and empty... those who have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and have witness in their hearts concerning the gospel... are not easily led astray by pagan religions that are based on outward observances.

Let me guess. And I'm not saying this to be rude. You watched Zeitgeist, didn't you.

Look, research those myths for yourself. Most of that stuff that resembles Jesus's life was added in AFTER the New Testament was written. Not only that, but if you read the myths themselves, they don't give specific historic details. It's "once upon a time" over and over again. Only Jesus was mentioned in secular contemporary writings. Only Jesus's story was accompanied by historical facts. Only the New Testament was written by EYEWITNESSES. How do we know they were eyewitnesses? Because they say they were! Why would they lie? Christians at that time were less than nothing. They were heavily persecuted.

I suggest you dig deeper. Those are lies.

I've never met a Christian who claimed Jesus was the "original" virgin birth, just that it was a virgin birth. And just because lots of figures come from virgin births does NOT mean "all the pagan religion were alike." There's lots of other things in those myths. Why the primacy of virgin birth scenes?

well they may be somewhat similar, but none of the others ever existed. God is THE one and only. and Jesus IS God. he is God in his human form so to speak. I think it is an insult to compare Jesus to any of the other gods. Jesus is nothing like them.

Our greatest philosophers said that we should expect other cultures to copy Christianity. God has made clear in every man that He exists.

I've studied these and I know that you are presenting infomation that you want. These stories don't correlate even though you want them to. You probably read a biased author's summaries rather than about the actual mythical gods. Your argument is not valid.
