A born-again Christian is someone who has fallen out of faith or into apathy, and he or she has subsequently regained/reaffirmed his or her faith. This happens most often in Baptist churches.

A born again Christian is someone, anyone who accepts Jesus as their savior. Meaning we are born again in Christ and not of this world.

Accepting Jesus as your savior does not make you a born again Christian. That is not in the Bible, in fact that teaching is only a generation or two old. That is a teaching that many of us who have been Christians for 50 years or more call "easy believeism" . The thing that makes you a born again Christian is God accepting you "in the Beloved" as the book of Colossians points out. According to Romans 10 the only way youcan become born again is by confessing Christ as your Lord and believing in Him. If Christ is not your Lord He is not your Saviour. The Apostle aul tells all Christians, to "examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith."

I was raised in a Christian home and have always believed in God. I never understood what born again meet. Like you, I thought that it was someone that did not believe and then gave their life to God. I was born again when an alter call was made for those who wanted to give their life to God and allow Him to lead.
To be born again means to receive salvation, and be saved through receiving The LORD Jesus Christ as Savior. www.born-again-christian.com

Born again in the Body of Christ, accepting His terms, His truths, His level of excellence for our lives. Once you accept Christ in your life, you have the person of the Holy Spirit indwelt within you. You are led by the Spirit to live more closely to the life and the example that Christ led. If you said you were a Christian before and didn't live your life for Christ, then you probably had not accepted Him fully into your life. It's a proclamation of love for the Lord and devotion to His Word. Your life would have been markedly different than that of secular people. katiefish <><

Is that not the same thing. A person that accepts Jesus Christ. John 3:16.
Once someone accepts Christ and is publicly baptized he is sealed with the spirit of God...and then he or she begins to live as Jesus lives. Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. Hebrews chapter 2 We must attend to what we have heard and not let it slip. Can one afford to give up so greater gift as salvation? When Christians sin-backsliders. God does forgive. But coming back is worse than a salmon swimming up stream....because when a person is cleansed and returns to his or her old way of life in sin their prior state is worse than before they were ever saved at all...because the sins return even stronger. Matthew 12:43-45. Sometimes Christianity is tasteless like fresh oil and that is when we become restless. We begin to think of the times and forget saying it was not that bad...Oh but it was, it was so bad we ran to God.

"Born again" Christians obsess about a verse in John 3 that, translated one particular way, says "You must be born again." apparently meaning you must make a formal declaration of your acknowledgement that Jesus Christ is you Lord and Savior. This is more important to them even than membership in the Christian community.

Born again is when your heart believes in Jesus as your Savior ,or in other terms the very moment that you first hear God's Word, and realize that It is not of this world, and that there is indeed a Higher Power, one that is from a different realm/place. hope this helps.

Being born again speaks of a spiritual birth. We are born first physically and when we accept Christ as our Savior we are spiritually reborn and are a new creature in Christ.
We are all born sinners...no one had Christ to begin with, all have to choose to accept or deny Christ.

To be truly born again, one must be baptized as commanded by Jesus Christ.
To Pastor Art, a baby being baptized just removes the stain of original sin and that is all. They do not become a Christian until their confirmation and first communion. Please stop blaspheming the Word of God, and the Catholic Church which Jesus established in 33AD
