that is so sad! i hope the momma didn't come back and wonder where her baby went. but she probably got injured or worse killed. it is a good thing you did taking that kitten in... i would keep feeding her the stuff you have been feeding her until she is old enough to drink warm milk and eat kittne food, or soft food. you must make her feel at home, and definately keep her warm. my grandmother found some kittens and they were not weined of their mothers milk, and 3 out of 5 lived. one died because it was sick already and the other died because the milk spoiled and my grandma didn't know. put the kitty on a heating pad, and MAKE sure it is not to high it will burn the kitty. get a cat bed and put the pad under it on low heat. hope i helped!

Until they are at least 3 weeks old, kittens must be stimulated to urinate and defecate after every meal, or constipation is a big problem. Simply use a cotton ball and warm water to gently wipe the genital area in a circular motion until the kitten goes to the bathroom. This is what the mother would be doing (stimulating)if she were there. It is also time to deworm her for hookworms and roundworms--ask your vet.
I would suspect she became somewhat dehydrated, as stools are usually quite soft in kittens who are not dehydrated.

you sound like you are doing great, and it sounds like you are doing everything you can...when the kitten gets older be sure to provide wet and dry foods desgined for kittens because its packed with what a growing kitty needs...and KMR that stuffs great ive given it to all 9 of the kittens we've had...id say just dont give the kitten anything unless the vet approves it...also if your worried about the kitten being skinny my kitties really liked chicken, turkey or beef flavored baby food.....it helped them when they were between milk and dry food and they loved it...if helped them gain a little (healthy) weight...but congrats to you for taking such good care of this kitten, the only other thing id say is maybe set up a little box for her to sleep in that she can easily get in and out of and when you go to litter train her (is easy they have an instinct to use want to dig in the sand like litter) just show her where it is and plop her in it a few times a day so she gets the idea....but good luck it sounds like this kittys got a great home

awwww...bless you for taking in the kitten and doing so much for her.
I guess the momma must of rejected her for some reason. )-:
If you are taking advice from a vet..i think that is all you need to do. It sound like thru your care she is thriving well. Be prepared for her to view you as her mother after this.
I hope you are able to keep her..
I can just see her all cuddly beside you purrring!

well i think you are doing really well. maybe you should try to stimulate her to make her go to the bathroom more often. that might help. other than that i think you seem to be doing a really great job, but watch and make sure the blood in the stool doesn't continue....good luck! give the poor thing a kiss on it's little head for me :)

You are a very kind person for doing that.
Cats love milk. But its not good for them, it makes them constipated and have diaria when they can go to the bathroom. Instead of giving her milk, give her water. Thats what I do with my cats.
I feed my kittens science diet(kitten formula)if you want to try that.

take a warm, moist washcloth and after feeding rub her belly like mom licking her on her belly, this will help stimulate the bowels to move,,,we have raised kittens from 3 days old
